Final Visit to New Urologist
I returned to see Dr. Lai Gu Shun for my final visit. I explained that while my left testicle was improving, it still wasn't back to its pre-surgery state and remained larger and softer. I then asked about my atrophied right testicle and what could be done. The doctor informed me that it no longer had any function, elaborating that a severely damaged testicle has about 48 hours to restore blood flow, or it can't recover.
From my research, I knew that removing a severely damaged testicle was often recommended to prevent cancer. I inquired if removal was necessary to avoid complications, but he said it wasn't needed and advised leaving it as is.
The area where the mesh had been placed was still painful with movement, so I asked if it was alright to use a massage gun there to help improve blood flow. The doctor confirmed that this was fine.
I mentioned I was still experiencing pain, so the doctor continued my tramadol prescription, this time for just five days, and also prescribed antibiotics.
I informed the doctor about my upcoming meeting with another hospital to discuss my surgery and recovery issues and that I needed to prepare documentation. He asked a nurse to prepare a note for me to take to another office for this purpose.
I received a CD with all my ultrasound images and a document containing the doctor's notes, which I planned to bring to my meeting at Kuang Tien Hospital.
The medication prescribed was: TRACETON (Tramadol/acetaminophen pain relief), CIPROGEN (antibiotics)

I was somewhat surprised by the doctor's comment that the testicle had no function, as I still held out hope for some recovery.
